Understand the limits of endurance evidence

An endurance or fatigue test relates to the tested component or system, operating conditions and acceptance criteria. It is not a promise of the same service life in every facility, and it is not the same as running every finished door through that test.

If a proposal includes a cycle-life figure, ask which item was tested, how it was operated and which configuration the evidence covers. Keep that evidence separate from the routine inspection record for your order. No unverified cycle-life figure is needed to agree a clear inspection plan.

Review safety and controls as a system

A physical device and the control response behind it need to be considered together. Agree which protective devices are fitted, what happens when they operate, how faults are indicated and how authorized recovery is performed.

Where safety-related reports or certificates are requested, review the exact device, function and model scope. Evidence for a controller or component does not automatically establish the performance or conformity of the complete installed entrance.
